About the Device Repository & Payload Formatters
The LoRaWAN Device Repository contains ready-made profiles for end devices from a wide range of manufacturers. Select a device from the repository and The Things Stack fills in the LoRaWAN settings and payload formatter for you, so devices work correctly from the first message.
Payload formatters
Payload formatters turn raw device bytes into readable data, and convert your downlink data back into bytes for the device. Use the formatter that comes with the device profile, choose a standard format such as CayenneLPP, or write your own in JavaScript, per application or per device.
